Be A Host

If you like to have people over, being a Progressive Dinner Host is a great way to entertain and meet your neighbors. As a Host, here is what is expected of you:

  • Be able to comfortably seat and willingly feed 6-10 neighbors, including yourself.
  • Be willing to have people you don’t know (yet!) over for a one- to two-course dinner (at least a main course; a salad or other first course is optional).
  • Do attend the pre-dinner gathering at a unique neighborhood location TBA for wine, beer, and hors d'oeuvres, but either (A) walk over with your guests or (B) plan to be at your home before 7 pm to greet your guests.
  • Be mindful of the time so you and your guests can walk to the dessert gathering at another unique neighborhood location TBA.

Don’t have a dining room?
No problem, serve buffet style in your living area.

Not sure what to cook?
Here's a Pinterest board of tried-and-true recipes from some of our Hosts.

Like to have people over, but afraid it will be too costly, or don’t feel confident in your cooking skills?
  • No problem, serve something simple like pasta and salad, or order take-out entrees from a local market or restaurant.
  • Attendees are asked to bring a bottle of wine per person or couple to share with the group at dinner.
  • Hosts do NOT have to purchase Attendee tickets. Your generosity in opening your home and providing dinner are your contribution to the event.

We are always in need of Hosts willing to accommodate vegetarian and celiac Attendees. If you are willing to make a vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free dinner, please consider hosting and note it on your sign-up form. Thank you!
