May 2018 Meeting: Complete Streets and New Neighborhood Signage

The next meeting for the 2017-18 year for the South Downtown NRZ is this week, Wednesday, May 16 at 6 pm St., in the Bryant Room at South Congregational Church (enter via John Street).

Our featured speaker will be from the Capitol Region Council of Governments, discussing their Complete Streets Project, which aims to plan streets that accommodate not just private vehicles but also pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit. Our meeting will also include a discussion on the proposed locations of some neighborhood signage, as well as updates on fire and police activity in the neighborhood, and reports from Hartford 2000, Hartford Decide$ and the Outreach and Social Committees. We hope to see lots of neighbors there.

June marks our Annual Meeting, and we do need more Board Members. If you are a SoDo resident, property owner or business owner and would like to get involved in the NRZ, please email SoDoNRZ@gmail.com. If you are not sure if your home or business lies within the NRZ boundaries, please check out this map.

You can view past meeting minutes and newsletter editions on our website. And don't forget to check out our Facebook and NextDoor pages for neighborhood news and photos.
