February 2017

Show our neighborhood some love! Be sure to help keep our sidewalks clear of snow and ice, move your car during parking bans (more on that below), dine locally during Restaurant Week (starts February 20), sign up for the Progressive Dinner or Spring Happy Hour, and, if you are looking for an opportunity to get involved locally, we welcome you as a volunteer, committee member, board member, or neighborhood meeting attendee.

The next meeting of your NRZ will be
Wednesday, February 15 at 6 pm, at the Hartford Public Library, Main Street. Our featured speaker is Ruth Sovronsky of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, who will talk about the HSO's musician hosting program. We also hope to have an update on the timeline for potential Residential Parking Permits in SoDo, and our Hartford Decide$ Project, the Community Garden on Hudson Street. We hope to see you at Wednesday's meeting, rain, snow or shine.
Later this month is the SoDo NRZ's biggest fundraiser, the Downtown Hartford Progressive Dinner, Sponsored by SoDo. Now in its sixth year, this annual event brings residents of Downtown Hartford together to celebrate urban living, the walkability of our capital city, and neighborly camaraderie over good food and libations. Saturday, February 25, 5:30 pm. This is our most popular event and a truly fun evening. Sign up today, no tickets will be sold at the door and seats really are limited - ask those who were wait-listed the past few years!

The South Downtown NRZ is always looking for more SoDo residents, property owners and business owners to get involved in the NRZ. If you are interested in one of our open Board positions, volunteering for a project, or serving on a committee, please email SoDoNRZ@gmail.com.

You can view past meeting minutes and newsletter editions on our website. And don't forget to check out our Facebook and NextDoor pages for neighborhood news and photos.
